World: 2019 looks uncertain for Scotch exports after 3.6% growth in 2018
In 2018 the volume of Scotch exports grew by 3.6%, and the beginning of 2019 was off to an even better start, H. M. Gauger GmbH reported in November.
The 25% penaly tax for imports into the U.S. dampened the mood, hopefully only temporarily, the analysts said.
The future of exports to the EU is also uncertain. However, the postponement of the Brexit date till 31 January and the likely agreement on fair commercial rules thereafter looks positive.
